Our Mission

MJL Equity Group is a commercial real estate investment company dedicated to creating opportunities for investors by securing assets through multifamily real estate investing.

Our Company History

The journey of real estate investing began in 2015 beginning with residential, then private money lending and moving into passive income thru rental properties, and ultimately into commercial multifamily real estate.

We focus on markets with properties in the South Eastern part of the United States that meet our investment criteria:

Our Investment Criteria and Strategy

We target 5-50 unit Class B and C residential properties in A and B markets, built after 1978, offering value-add opportunities. Our value-add real estate strategy seeks to increase a property’s existing cash flow over time by making improvements to the property. This generally includes making physical upgrades to the asset which in turn allows rent increase, improvement of property management and lowering operating expenses where possible. This strategy offers a safe balance of risk vs. return to our investors, as it provides in-place cash flow at the time of the asset’s acquisition, with significant upside potential in the form of value appreciation and enables them to gain multiple income streams from the same type of investment.

Conservative approach

We use conservative financial assumptions and cash flow projections when evaluating investment opportunities and offer conservatively structured investments. Our conservative approach ultimately leads to a much higher chance of success in the asset’s future financial performance.

About Us

Scott and Jeanine Gimbert

MJL Equity Group has been active in real estate since 2016. The company was a dream of Scott and Jeanine Gimbert.  They had a vision to invest in real estate and they made that dream come true with determination, perseverance, and a drive for success.  

 

Scott’s background is owner manager of a multimillion-dollar ecommerce & distribution company in the fishing industry.  As an avid fisherman, he took his passion and knowledge of the sport and made it his livelihood for over 20 years.   Jeanine has devoted her 30 year career as a Court Operations Manager with the County Clerk of Court appreciating the fundamentals and complexities of the legal system.   Scott and Jeanine are residents of Central Florida where they spend their free time with their three daughters soaking up the sun, enjoying the water, and giving back to the community.    

 

With nearly 3 million dollars in assets comprised of commercial property, Multifamily and single family rentals, Scott and Jeanine are enthusiastic about growing the business.  They are always open to connecting and collaborating with other professionals in the world of real estate.
